Definition & Sample of Narrative Text

NARRATIVE TEXT:

adalah teks yang bercerita tentang sesuatu yang diimajinasikan/dikhayalkan dengan tujuan untuk menghibur    (To ENTERTAIN or TO AMUSE).

Struktur :     1. Orientation      : opening, introducing characters, dmn,

                                                    dan kpn terjadi.
                   2. Complication  :    munculnya konflik/masalah.
                   3. Resolution      : pemecahan masalah 

                                                   (sering sbg penutup)

Ciri2 teks:    1. Menggunakan Simple past tense,

                   2. Biasanya dimulai dgn keterangan waktu : 

                        long time ago, once upon time, etc.,
                   3. Menggunakan Conjunction: before, after, then, etc.

Contoh teks: Sangkuriang, Asal kota Banyuwangi, Wolf & goat, etc

Generic structure	The Fox and The Crow         Miss Crow had stolen a big piece of cheese, and flew on to a branch to enjoy it. A silly fox who wanted the cheese for himself, came up and spoke politely to her. “Oh, Miss Crow, how beautiful you are! What a lovely beak, what lovely features you have! What pretty eyes! If only you could sing, you would be the most beautiful bird in the world!” Very pleased to hear all of this about herself, Miss crow gave a loud croak to show that she could sing. Of course, the moment she opened her beak, the cheese fell down, and Mr. Fox ran away with it, laughing loudly.
